Sayco, President and Chief Executive Officer of TresMedica Trading, Inc., leadership has always been rooted in service, compassion, and a genuine desire to improve lives through accessible healthcare.

JJVS, as he is fondly known in the office, is a leader who truly leads by example. Whether for meetings, company blessings, or routine monthly gatherings, he is often the first to arrive. For him, punctuality is more than professionalism - it is a reflection of respect for other people's time and character. He often says that the way a person values time speaks volumes about how they were raised, a principle deeply instilled in him by his father.

Raised on grit, and on keeping one's word

Born and raised in Quezon City, JJVS grew up guided by strong values of discipline, resilience, and integrity. His father, a seasoned engineer, taught him the importance of grit, perseverance, and keeping one's word - qualities that continue to define his leadership and personal life to this day. These lessons became the foundation of the man he is now: purposeful, dependable, and always striving to stay one step ahead in both life and business.

Fifteen years across nursing and dialysis management

JJVS has over 15 years of experience in nursing, dialysis management, and healthcare business development, building a career defined by innovation, resilience, and people-centered leadership. A graduate of Unciano Colleges with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing who also took up a Master of Business Management from Our Lady of Fatima University, he successfully combined clinical expertise with strategic business leadership - allowing him to bridge compassionate patient care with sustainable healthcare solutions.

The youngest head nurse in every hospital he served

He started his training as a hemodialysis nurse at Asia Renal Care in 2009 and his career as an emergency nurse at Antipolo Doctors Hospital. When ADH decided to expand an ancillary hemodialysis center in the hospital, JJVS was assigned to be the head nurse, as he was the only one in the hospital with the required training. With his dedication and leadership, JJVS served as the youngest head nurse in all the hospitals he has served. This strong work ethic and his ability to lead eventually brought him to higher managerial positions at Clinica Antipolo Health Wellness Center Inc. and Tricity Medical Center as head nurse and nurse manager. He mentored and trained aspiring new dialysis nurses and oversaw the centers' day-to-day operations. His dynamic leadership earned the confidence of his colleagues, supervisors, and most importantly, his patients, many of whom continue to hold lasting friendships with him to this day.

Having spent years at the forefront of patient care, he developed a firsthand understanding of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. This foundation shaped his clinical and operational efficiency. His experiences eventually opened more doors of opportunity and broader managerial roles at GC Hemodynamix and Scriptmed Inc. There, he established and managed dialysis centers while implementing clinical protocols and staff development programs that elevated patient care standards. He was under the mentorship of many brilliant nephrologists of their time - Dr. Gjay Ordinal, Dr. Froilan De Leon, Dr. Jocelyn Cobankiat, and Dr. Alejandro Sese - renowned pillars of the nephrology community whose guidance helped fuel his passion for excellence and innovation.

From network manager to founder

His entrepreneurial journey formally took shape when he became Network Manager at Scriptmed Inc., where he oversaw dialysis operations across multiple provinces. He helped streamline systems to improve patient outcomes and service delivery, and became far more knowledgeable in private-public partnerships with LGUs, reaching a much greater community of patients in dire need of dialysis. These experiences laid the foundation for what would later become one of his greatest milestones.

In 2021, JJVS established TresMedica Trading, Inc. together with Ronald San Juan and Steffi Salvador, with a vision of creating a healthcare ecosystem that would make quality treatment more accessible, efficient, and patient-focused. What started as a medical supplies company eventually evolved into an integrated healthcare group that now includes One Dialysis Center, TresRx Pharmacy, and TresLab Diagnostic Clinic. Through these companies, JJVS continues to champion the organization's mission of delivering compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to communities nationwide, committed to the TresMedica core of Passion for Patients.

The Free Dialysis Movement

The TresMedica Free Dialysis Movement continues to reach countless lives across communities, through centers strategically located across different cities and municipalities in the country. By the end of 2026, the group envisions operating 12 hemodialysis centers and 2 diagnostic laboratories serving the many underserved and unserved communities across the Philippines.

With his dynamic leadership and strategic mindset, JJVS oversees operations with a strong focus on innovation, operational excellence, and patient-centered care. He believes that healthcare should not only treat illness, but also restore dignity, hope, and quality of life for every patient served. Under his leadership, TresMedica has continuously expanded its reach while maintaining its commitment to service and integrity.

The man behind the title

Yet beyond his achievements and titles, those who work closely with JJVS know him best for his generosity, sincerity, and unwavering dedication to people. He leads not through authority alone, but through example - empowering teams, building meaningful relationships, and inspiring others to pursue excellence with compassion.

Beyond his role as TresMedica's President and CEO, JJVS finds his greatest joy in the simple, quiet moments. He enjoys cooking for his loved ones, sometimes just getting a recipe online and recreating it for his family - reflecting his warm and nurturing side at home. Despite commitments left and right, he and his wife love scheduling JUNK trips - Just Us, No Kids - whenever their schedules allow. Together, they dream of traveling the world while creating meaningful memories. This year, they celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary.

Family remains at the center of his life. During weekends, he dedicates quality time to spend together, especially attending their usual Sunday masses as a family - a tradition they continue to value deeply. During longer school breaks, he enjoys taking his family on a quick out-of-town getaway or organizing a trip abroad away from the busyness of life, where they can spend as much quality time together.

A devoted and affectionate father, JJVS takes pride in providing the best for his children and creating experiences they will cherish. Known as a loving spoiler dad and husband, he makes sure that his family feels supported, protected, and deeply cared for. Beyond the bounds of family, he is also a dependable friend who values relationships sincerely. No matter how busy he becomes, JJVS makes time to reconnect with lifelong friends, believing that genuine relationships built on trust and loyalty are one of life's greatest blessings.
